PRINTS: All prints must be original in design & hand-pulled by the artist. Images may be computer or photographically based, but actual work must be made using a printmaking process. Photographs, computer output prints (ink jet, iris, etc.), copier or offset reproductions are not eligible. Dimensions of framed artwork may not exceed 48" in any direction and weight may not exceed 30 lbs. Limit of three print entries per artist. Judging will be by slide only. One slide per print. Collaborative pieces are not eligible. Artists from outside the US may rent frames for the exhibition & mail prints rolled in tubes. Artists within the US must send work framed.

BOOKS: Printmaking elements must be used in all books submitted. All books must be original in design & hand made & assembled by the artist. Collaborative pieces are not eligible. Dimensions may not exceed 30" in any direction. Limit of three book entries per artist. Judging will be by slide only. Two slides per book; one of the cover & one detail of sample book.

Entries in either category must not have been a previous exhibition in San Antonio, Texas. All work must be returnable through DSL, UPS, Fed Ex, or U.S. Mail. Artists pay return shipping. Work shipped from outside the U.S. by UPS is subject to custom brokerage charges. These charges must be prepaid by the artist. Additional information on the shipping of artwork will be mailed to those accepted.

The non-refundable entry fees permit each artist to submit up to three (3) original prints and/or three (3) original books.

The fee is: $15 per print entry (limit 3)

Each entry should include the following.

For technical reasons, this exhibition will be judged by slides. 

1. Artist Name at top left hand corner, the word "TOP" at upper right hand corner.

2. At bottom left hand: Title and Media.

 

3. At lower right, Size. 

No glass slides.

Slides of unaccepted work will be returned if you include a #10, 4" x 9 ½ " self-addressed, stamped envelope with the entry. Utmost care will be taken in handling all submitted slide entries, however; StoneMetal Press will not be responsible for loss or damage to slides. Slides of accepted artwork will become the property of StoneMetal Press slide library.

Artists selected by the juror agree to submit actual works for the exhibition. Work must be the same work as depicted in slides. Differences in color, quality, or presentation may disqualify the work. Prints must be available for exhibition & sale.

All work in the exhibit must be for sale. The sale of prints in the exhibition will be promoted. A 50% commission on any work sold from the exhibition will be retained by StoneMetal Press & the gallery.

A catalog of the show will be published, featuring a color image of each exhibited work. Each accepted artist receives a copy of the catalog. Additional copies will be for sale.

Catalogs of previous shows are still available, while supplies last, for $5 each.

Neither StoneMetal Press, nor their agents will be responsible for theft, loss or damage of any of the work submitted to this exhibition. No insurance will be carried by the exhibiting agencies, but all possible care will be used in handling prints and books. All accepted work will remain as placed by the committee and no work will be withdrawn before the close of the exhibition.
