Beginning Lithography
Young Adult to Adult ages
Wednesdays July 7 through August 11 ( 6pm - 9pm )
Scheduled to start 14th but will start the first Wednesday that the class fills.
Instructor: Sean Conway


Learn the history, principles and techniques of printing with lithographic stones in this 6 week course. Each student will be provided with a StoneMetal Press stone to work on their own imagery. Students will become familiar with new and traditional processes and effects that are specific to this printing method developed in the early 19th century.

Photo Emulsion Silk Screen Printmaking
Young Adult to Adult ages
Saturdays July 10 & July 17 ( 9AM—3PM )

This class introduces photo emulsion and 2 color separation silk screen techniques on paper.

Printing with Solar Plates
Young Adult to Adults
Saturday August 7, August 14 (9AM—3PM)

This class introduces the use of Solar Plates to explore the relationship between photographic processes and relief printmaking.

Linocut Printmaking Classes for Kids
3rd- 5th grade
June 23rd & 24th  ( 9:00 am — 1:00 pm )
Instructor: Monica Alexander

Students will learn to create a traditional relief print.  First they will transfer their image onto linoleum, carve away the negative space  (what they don't want to print), ink the positive space (what's left  after etching away the negative), and pull a print!
Minimum number of Students: 5

Linocut Printmaking Classes for Kids II
3rd- 5th grade
July 5th & 6th  ( 9:00 am — 4:00 pm )
Instructor: Monica Alexander

Students will learn to create a two color traditional relief print. This class uses the same techniques taught in the earlier class with the exception of a second plate.  Students will learn about registering or aligning their plates to pull a second color.

Monotype Printmaking (daytime)
Young Adult to Adults
Thursdays July 1- July 22 ( 9:00 am — 12:00 pm )

Tuesdays, June 29 - July20 ( 6:00 pm — 9:00 pm )

Students will learn methods for making unique impressions in monotype printmaking. Additive, reductive, transfer and registration techniques will be explored in this 4 week class.

Tuition Fee: $135 ( $120 for members )

Open Studio - 1st Sunday of each Month

Bring your projects & share printmaking camaraderie while sharing the studio.

Participant purchases own paper & plates.  General studio supplies

& available inks provided. Call by 1pm Friday of each week.

$10 per session ( $5 for members )

Sundays, 1:00 pm— 4:30pm, with reservation.

 

Special Projects

Perfect for artists with some experience who want a practiced printmaker to work

side-by-side with them to create an edition of prints.

Hours by agreement.

$20 per hour, 3 hour minimum, plus materials.
